History and development of figures throughout time

January 20, 2026

Figures have been a central part of popular culture and the collecting world for many years. From the god-like depictions of ancient civilizations to today's detailed anime and game motifs. Let's take a closer look at how these small works of art have evolved through the ages and continue to fascinate collectors worldwide.

Ancient roots

Figures have their beginnings in antiquity, when they were used for religious, cultural, and political purposes. Whether Greek statues of gods or Egyptian sculptures, these often symbolized power and faith.

Collectibles in modern times

As we move forward in time, figures began to take on a more playful and collectible form. The big boom came with action figures in the 1960s and continued with iconic series in the 1980s.

Today, there is great interest in anime and game-related figures. An interesting development is Konosuba God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! PVC Figure Megumin: Light Novel Catgirl Maid Ver. 16 cm, which shows how modern figures can seamlessly blend themes and genres.

Music-influenced figures

Music has also had a great influence on figure collecting. A good example is the Randy Rhoads IV Rock Iconz Figure The Early Years Red Version 24 cm, which shows that the influences can be both visual and auditory.

Figures of the digital age

With the rise of gaming, we got action figures inspired by game characters. One such figure is the Fallout Action Figure Cooper Howard (Red Platinum Edition) 17 cm, which uniquely captures the character's details from the game.
