Within the collector community, there's a wide range of figures, but two of the most popular categories are action figures and anime figures. What truly distinguishes these two, and how does it affect your collecting?
What are action figures?
Action figures are typically toys designed to represent characters from movies, TV series, comics, or games. They are often characterized by their movable parts and can be posed in various positions. An example of a popular action figure is It: Welcome to Derry Action Figure Blood Pennywise 18 cm, which depicts the iconic character from the horror film "It."
What distinguishes anime figures?
Anime figures, on the other hand, are usually based on characters from Japanese anime and manga. These figures are often highly detailed and place a greater emphasis on aesthetics and design. They are often not as posable as action figures. Examples of anime figures include Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 PVC Figure 1/4 Roxy Bunny Ver. 45 cm and Original Character PVC Figure 1/4 Umeka Akaori illustration by Doshima 20 cm.
Which type should you collect?
Choosing between action figures and anime figures depends entirely on your personal interest and what you enjoy. If you like to pose and play with your figures, action figures might be more appealing. However, if you prefer high detail and collect for aesthetic satisfaction, anime figures might suit you better.
