Jurassic Park Topographic Map Isla Nublar
In the late 1980s, after John Hammond abandoned the idea of a smaller version of Jurassic Park in San Diego, his company, InGen, sought a larger and more secluded location. In 1987, the last remaining descendant of the Bribri tribe resettled beyond Isla Nublar. That same year, Costa Rica entered into an agreement to lease both Isla Nublar and the Muertes Archipelago to InGen for 99 years. This agreement was later inherited by Masrani Global Corporation. Construction of Jurassic Park subsequently began.
Isla Nublar was intended to house Jurassic Park, a tourist attraction featuring live dinosaurs cloned from prehistoric DNA. Unfortunately, the park was abandoned before it could open to the public, due to several security breaches in 1993.
