When drawing character illustrations, I mainly focus on capturing the essence of line art and translating objects and surfaces into a two-dimensional plane. I feel that ukiyo-e represents both the origin of this method and one of its perfected forms. I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to showcase collaborations alongside the great masterpieces and cultural traditions that have greatly influenced me. Hokusai's paintings have iconic expressions that define each work — be it the waves in The Great Wave off Kanagawa or the cherry blossoms in Fuji Seen from Goten-yama at Shinagawa, on the Tokaido. These elements blend excellently well with Hatsune Miku, who can take on infinite forms when combined with various concepts.
