In reality, Velociraptor was a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaurs from the Late Cretaceous period, which lived on what is today the border between Mongolia and China along with many other unique species. Approximately the size of a wolf, Velociraptor was covered in feathers and had a distinct bird-like appearance – much further from its cinematic portrayal than its actual paleoanthropological reference and more akin to a flightless hawk.

This unique set allows collectors to compare a Velociraptor foot claw with a fossil claw, highlighting the difference between anatomical reconstruction and paleontological reference. Both claws are hand-sculpted and hand-painted by The Very Museum's key artist, Oskar Ankarudd. Each claw is displayed on an auction-style acrylic base and can be removed for closer examination.
