For this special collaboration, iXima illustrates Hatsune Miku within the world of Katsushika Hokusai's art, creating a synergistic fusion of Hokusai's enduring artistic heritage and passion with Hatsune Miku's perpetually innovative spirit.

When drawing character illustrations, I primarily focus on capturing the essence of line art and translating objects and spaces into two dimensions. I feel that ukiyo-e represents both the origin of this method and one of its perfected forms. I am deeply honored to be given the opportunity to showcase collaboration alongside the great masterpieces and cultural traditions that have influenced me so greatly. Hokusai’s paintings carry iconic expressions that define each work — whether it is the waves in The Great Wave off Kanagawa or the cherry blossoms in Fuji Seen from Goten-yama at Shinagawa, on the Tokaido. These elements blend exceptionally well with Hatsune Miku, who can take on countless forms when combined with various ideas. I inevitably experienced joy in the creation of this piece and hope that it serves as a gateway for viewers to explore the worlds of both Hokusai and Miku.
