In this special collaboration, illustrator iXima depicts Hatsune Miku within the world of Katsushika Hokusai, creating a synergistic fusion of Hokusai’s enduring artistic legacy and passion with Hatsune Miku’s constant innovative spirit.

When drawing character illustrations, my primary focus is to capture the essence of line art and translate objects and spaces into a two-dimensional plane. I feel that ukiyo-e represents both the origin of this approach and one of its perfect forms. I am deeply honored to showcase this collaboration alongside the great masterpieces and cultural traditions that have greatly influenced me. Hokusai’s paintings feature iconic expressions that define each work – whether it's the waves in The Great Wave off Kanagawa or the cherry blossoms in Fuji Seen from Goten-yama at Shinagawa on the Tōkaidō. These elements pair excellently with Hatsune Miku, who can take on countless forms when combined with various concepts. I truly enjoyed creating this piece and hope it serves as a gateway for viewers to explore the worlds of both Hokusai and Miku.
