Celebrating his 40th anniversary in the ring in 2025, El Solar is among the rare "Maestros del Maestros" of lucha libre - pillars in the development of luchadores, passing on the technique and essence of lucha libre. Solar won his first title in 1978 - a title he would hold for more than a year. During his career, he has held multiple championships in UWA, EMLL (now CMLL), and WWA, as well as countless independent promotions.

In addition to success as a singles star, in the 1980s, Solar teamed with Super Astro and Ultraman to form "Los Cadetes del Espacio", the legendary trio who were part of the boom period in UWA where trios matches became popular and influenced the future of the sport - a tradition that continues to this day.
